OUR STORY
The foundation of this brand began years before Alafia officially existed. In 2018, our founder pitched the idea of a mental health awareness initiative during the Diamond Challenge. Although the project did not win the competition, the vision did not end there. That experience later led to the co-founding of a mental health awareness program focused on creating conversations around mental health, organizing community events, and raising funds to help provide access to therapy and support.
Years of advocacy, learning, and firsthand experience revealed how deeply mental and reproductive health are often overlooked, stigmatized, and underserved. Alongside years of working in mental health, our founder’s personal journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome further highlighted the need for more intentional, supportive, and accessible wellness solutions. Alafia was created from that intersection — blending care, education, wellness, and intentional products designed to support both mind and body in a way that feels personal, honest, and community-centered.
Wellness Supplements
Our supplements are selected and developed with intention, focusing on supporting everyday wellness and helping individuals build consistent routines that align with their personal health goals. We prioritize transparency, thoughtful formulations, and products that complement holistic wellness practices.
Mental Health & Wellness Advocacy
Beyond products, Alafia is rooted in advocacy and awareness. Through conversations, education, and community-centered initiatives, we aim to contribute to reducing stigma surrounding mental and reproductive health while encouraging more open and supportive discussions around wellness.
Community Wellness Experiences
We believe wellness should feel accessible, supportive, and connected. As the brand grows, Alafia aims to create wellness experiences, educational sessions, and community initiatives that encourage people to prioritize both mental and reproductive wellbeing in sustainable and empowering ways.

OUR FOUNDER
Our founder’s journey into wellness began long before this brand was created. As a mental health enthusiast and advocate working in the field for nearly a decade, she has led and contributed to mental health initiatives across Sierra Leone, Rwanda, and Uganda, driven by a deep passion for creating conversations, support systems, and access to care within African communities. This passion is also deeply personal, shaped by her own experiences navigating depression and other mental health challenges.
Five years ago, she was also diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, an experience that opened her eyes to the realities of reproductive and hormonal health struggles faced by so many women. Navigating both mental and reproductive wellness revealed how overlooked, stigmatized, and unsupported these experiences often are, especially within African communities. This brand was created from that intersection. A desire to build intentional wellness products, encourage open conversations, and create supportive routines that help people feel seen, cared for, and empowered in their wellness jou
